Swimsuit Search

I will be in Palm Springs, CA in only 5 more days! Thinking about my upcoming trip has gotten me in a bathing suit shopping mood. Unfortunately, I will not be able to get one of these cute suits until after Lent, but it is still fun to look.
I am a big fan of the bandeau style, and I love all of the Lilly suits this year!

Trina Turk Palmetto Bikini
I love the bright tropical colors on this one, very fun.

I love how the beads on the top kinda coordinate with the colors on the bottoms.

Hotchpotch Tankini from Boden
Boden now has U.S sizes so shopping is even easier!

Daisy Bikini from Boden
This little suit is just oh so cute and is a great inspiration for working out!

Spanx started making bathing suits, what a great idea!
Seersucker Bandeau Suit from J.Crew
I love seersucker! I also think it is good to have at least a couple tankinis in your bathing suit repertoire.

Crowned a Socialite!

Thanks to the fabulous Glitterista for giving me this lovely socialite tag!

Here are the rules:

-Click on the above button and paste onto your blog/website

-Answer the below questions

-Pass onto 10 bloggers that you love, go to their blog and let them know they have been tagged

1. Who is your style icon? Kate Middleton and Reese Witherspoon. They both always manage to look cute and classy.

2. What is your favorite socialite lit book? Social Climbers and Essentially Lilly: A Guide to Colorful Entertaining. I also love reading etiquette books.

3. Favorite party theme? Pink and green Lilly theme or a Gatsby themed party

4. Go to Halloween costume? Tennis player or something from Tiffany

5. Extravagance you cannot live without? Mental health days (does that count?) and also manicures and freshly cut flowers

6. Living person you admire? S.E Cupp and my mother

7. Greatest Fear? Dying very suddenly

8. Trait you deplore in yourself? I can be rather judgmental, in my head of others. I wish I was more accepting. I am also too indecisive (notice how I couldn’t even decide on one answer for any of these questions LOL!)

9. Which talent would you most like to have? I always have wanted to be a great artist. I think it would be so neat to have your own studio and be able to express yourself through painting, too bad I have absolutely no artistic ability!

10. Greatest Achievement? Becoming immensely happy with myself just the way I am and finally realizing that no matter how stressed I get, everything will be just fine!

I am passing this fun tag onto the following socialites...

Dreaming in Pink and Green
Holly Sails

If I Can’t Wear Heels I Don’t Want to Go
Peachy Keen
Sweet, Sassy, Southern and Classy
The Sweet Sea

Sparkles and Sundresses
Monogrammed Prep
Let the Tide Pull Your Dreams Ashore
Buckhead Belle

Welcome Spring!

Yesterday marked the first day of Spring! I am so excited, Easter will be here before we know it and I cannot wait to start wearing all my Lilly again.

Nothing says Spring, like Trader Joe's $5 flowers! They will brighten up any day and room.

I also have a nice, light springy dinner of linguine with asparagus and pine nuts planned, from the latest Real Simple.
Here is the recipe:

12 ounces linguine
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup pine nuts (I love these!)
4 cloves garlic, sliced
2 pounds asparagus, trimmed and cut into 1 inch pieces
1 cup shaved Parmesan

~Cook the pasta according to the package directions; drain the pasta and return it to the pot.

~Meanwhile, heat the oil in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the pine nuts and garlic and cook, stirring frequently, until golden, 1 to 2 minutes. Add the asparagus and cook, tossing occasionally, until just tender, 2 to 3 minutes.

~Add the asparagus mixture to the pasta along with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper and toss to combine. Sprinkle with the Parmesan before serving.

Hope that you had a great weekend!

I love how you can shop by print on the Lilly website now! I also really like the Giddy Up print, it would be perfect to wear to a Derby party.

I love this dress! Oh, and CK Bradley is having a huge sale until midnight tonight all of their dresses are only $75!

I hope your day is filled with lots green and fun! Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Liberty of London

I was super excited when I heard that Liberty of London was going to have a line for Target! I marked the launch date, March 14th on my calendar and made sure to stop in to check it out.
I liked the little girls clothes the most!

The little girls bathing suits were really cute but must have gone fast as they were already very picked over when I got there.
More sundresses, the colors looked much better in person.

I am a headband fanatic! I tend to like the thicker ones more though.

There were lots of office supplies, like these file folder holders, or whatever they are called!

But, the thing I really wanted to check out was this adorable paisley bike and my Target didn't have it! If I see this after Easter I am seriously buying it, it could actually be considered practical as I love bike rides.
Have checked out the Liberty of London line? Did your Target have the bike? I thought everything was cute, but I did not feel there was anything I really really wanted.

I Spy.....

I was so excited, when I saw all of the cute stuff they had, and all for super cheap. I usually do not go to Filene's because it is pretty far from my house, but mother and I needed to go to Whole Foods and the Filene's is right next door, and I was really glad that we stopped in.

Mother was so kind and bought me the cute skort on top and also the little green one that is peeking out!

They had a good selection of polos for only $15!

They also had these adorable little tops.

Lots of skirts and skorts, unfortunately most were not in my size.

I have been wanting one of these perfect little oxfords with the print under the cuffs and collar, but the only two they had were not in my size. I was so bummed!

When I spotted this nautical coat, from Juicy, I just knew I had to share it! There are little anchors on the buttons.
I will have to start going to Filene's more often. Happy Friday! Have a fabulous weekend.

What's in a Name?

I picked up this cute little yellow book a few months ago from a Pottery Barn Outlet. It is really fun and has a personalized fortune for your name! Here is what it said for my name....

I have always loved names! When I was younger I loved lists (still do!) but I always would make these lists of what I wanted to name my kids and what my favorite names were. I found one of these lists the other day in a journal and it made me laugh here are some of the names I had written down...
1. Adelaide Irene (I was in love with this name, I still like the name Adelaide, though, or Adelina)
2. Imelda (This one could have cute nicknames, like Milly which is my car's name!)
3. Melanie
4. Valerie
5. Eloise
6. Lilly (You could have your name hidden in all the little Lilly prints!)
7. Laura
And for boys I had...
1. Griffin
2. Ignatius
3. Henry
4. Augustine (could be called Gus!)
5. William
6. Charles
7. Luke

What are some of your favorite names?

Shirtdresses!

I have this new found obsession with shirtdresses. Saks recently had them on their list of spring trends, so I guess I am not alone! Just an update, I am surprisingly doing very well on my Lenten promise (remember I gave up shopping) even though these lovely shirtdresses are very tempting. Here are my favorite ones........

This one can be found at Nordys, I think it is a great example of a dressier shirtdress.

Gilchrist 3/4 Sleeve Shirt Dress
I love this horse print shirtdress from J. McLaughlin. It would be perfect for a derby party!

This one can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.

Lilly does shirtdresses too! This one is great for spring (BTW it was almost 50 degrees here today and super sunny!)

This one is from Lilly's fall line but it is still available at some via stores and on sale too!

This looks really comfy and would be great for lounging around or even as a swim coverup.

This is from Anthro and comes in solid colors as well! Lacoste Woven Striped Shirtdress
The model looks a bit scared but I love her gold Jack's!
