Anne with an "e"

As I was walking back from class today, I saw a girl with really pretty red hair and that of course made me think of "Anne of Green Gables" and how I really want to watch the movies when I go home this weekend! I don't know about you but Anne was a huge part of my childhood, my Grandma bought me the whole series for one of my birthdays and I have loved the movies for as long as I can remember.
A few months ago when I was walking through Anthro I literally shrieked when I saw that they had a pink copy of the first book! I of course bought it and it is a great addition to my desk in my dorm. One thing I love about Anne of Green Gables is that the movie and book are so similar they barely left anything out, that is probably why the movie is over three hours!

pssst Carrots...
I always wanted red hair like Anne's. And I think Megan Follows was the perfect girl for the job, she makes a perfect Anne!

"Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story" is the third movie and kind of combines parts of Anne's life from the book and events that are supposed to happen to her youngest daughter Rilla, but it is still really good if you don't compare it to the books! I always cry at this scene when Anne finally marries Gilbert (I always had the biggest crush on him from the very beginning!). And I love the song they play at that part.
Here are a few of my favorite Anne quotes....
"Tomorrow is a new day with no mistakes in it yet."
"I don't want diamond sunbursts or marble halls, I just want you."
"I know I chatter too much but if you only knew how many things I want to say and don't you would give me some credit."

"There's such a lot of different Anne's in me. I sometimes think that is why I am such a troublesome person. If I was just one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn't be half so interesting."
Oh, and in case you need another incentive to watch "Anne of Green Gables", Prince Edward Island is literally one of the most beautiful places ever!!
Have a lovely day everyone, and just think it is almost the weekend!

  1. Seriously one of the best stories ever! It was a classic in my family growing up. Some days I just need to watch the movies! I have always wanted to go to PEI-some day I plan on going! Such a wonderful post.

  2. This is awesome! I loved reading about Anne and watching the movies when I was younger!

  3. I love the books from Anthro--they're always so cute, especially when they're pink!

  4. "Anne of Green Gables" was one of my favorite series growing up! I loved Gilbert, too! When they got married I cried so hard, and when they were reunited, I couldn't stop crying! Ahhh, I love these movies so much! Wonderful post!

  5. I loved those books growing up and just gave a set to my 7 year old daughter for Christmas. We are reading them out loud together which is such fun!
